Preliminary Writ on Probation Revocation Made Final

Posted by RCaldwell on May 18, 2012

This year, Robert Caldwell, with a former colleague, helped change the landscape for those people on probation in Missouri.

On April 11, 2012, the Missouri Court of Appeals ruled that a court and prosecutor cannot try to revoke a person on probation, after the expiration date of that person's probation, if the only action taken prior to that expiration date is that of suspending the person's probation.  The Court's opinion is linked here: Preliminary Writ Made Permanent.
